Dear SAIA Community,

Please join us for our second event of the year on the afternoon of June 13, 2024. This quarter, our conversation will focus on exploring the potential benefits and nuanced characteristics of adding niche alternative asset types to investment portfolios. SAIA has curated a roster of specialist practitioners that are innovatively pursuing opportunities to generate outsized, uncorrelated returns via non-traditional exposures. We expect to cover asset types including whiskey barrels, distressed mobile home parks, carbon credits, and boat marinas, to name a few.

Panel

Ashley Marks is a Co-Founder and Co-Managing Partner of Cordillera Investment Partners. She is responsible for directing Cordillera’s overarching investment strategy alongside her co-founders. She also serves as a director of Cordillera portfolio companies.

Prior to founding Cordillera, Ashley was a Partner at Makena Capital Management where she was a senior member of Makena’s Real Estate investment team and served as the Portfolio Manager responsible for a Makena Real Estate Fund. She was also a member of the firm’s Investment Committee. Before Makena, Ashley was an Associate at MacFarlane Partners, a real estate private equity firm in San Francisco, and held previous positions at MacFarlane Partners and Robertson Stephens in the Technology Investment Banking group.

Miles Yourman 

Principal & CEO, Knightsbridge Wealth Management

A member of the Knightsbridge team since 2010, Miles is deeply involved in the firm’s investment process and portfolio management efforts. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder and earned an MBA from Columbia University, where he graduated with Dean’s Honors and Distinction and was awarded the Sonkin Family Prize for Value Investing. Miles earned an AB in economics from Dartmouth College (Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude). Before joining Knightsbridge, he worked for Citigroup in New York and London. Miles currently volunteers for the Witte Lecture Series from the Newport Beach Public Library Foundation.
