He leads Portfolio Oversight for CIM’s private real estate debt and Opportunity Zone investment strategies. Prior to joining CIM, Mr. Bjorkman worked at various real estate private equity firms, holding positions in investments, capital markets and investor relations. Mr. Bjorkman earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Real Estate and International Business from Denver University. Grant GaughrinPrincipal - Oak StreetGrant Gaughrin serves as Principal on Oak Street’s investment team, a division of Blue Owl. Mr. Gaughrin is responsible for the financing and sourcing of Oak Street’s potential and existing investments. At Oak Street, Mr. Gaughrin has focused on all capital markets related activities including mortgage financings, securitizations, sublines, bond issuances, credit facilities, and dispositions. Additionally, Mr. Gaughrin underwrites, structures, and sources new acquisitions. Prior to Oak Street, Mr. Gaughrin was an investment banking analyst at Stifel Financial / Keefe, Bruyette & Woods focusing on mergers and acquisitions and capital raising across multiple different industries. Mr. Gaughrin graduated from University of Illinois as a Golder Scholar with a B.S. in Economics. He also serves on the associate board of directors for the Clearbrook Organization, a Chicago based non-profit. Karen SprogisManaging Director - BlackstoneKaren Sprogis is a Managing Director in the Institutional Client Solutions Group and is based in New York. Since joining Blackstone in 1995, Ms. Sprogis has been involved in the asset management of Blackstone’s investments in the U.S. and Canada across various property types, and is involved in capital raising efforts for Blackstone’s real estate funds. Before joining Blackstone, Ms. Sprogis was a Vice President at Kleinwort Benson, where she was an international equity sales trader. Prior to that, Ms. Sprogis was a Portfolio Manager at JMB Institutional Realty Corporation. Ms. Sprogis received a BS in Accounting from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Chicago. Moderator:David BrunetteDirector, Head of Real Asset Research - Russell InvestmentsDavid Brunette is the head of Real Asset Research for Russell Investments. David is responsible for manager research of US private core real estate, listed property, and listed infrastructure, globally. He began researching listed property managers in 1989 and involved in listed infrastructure manager research since 2012. Mr. Brunette works closely with portfolio managers Bruce Eidelson and Patrick Nikodem on the strategy and management of Russell’s multi-manager real estate and infrastructure securities funds domiciled in the U.S., Europe, Australia, and Canada. David began his career with Russell Investments in 1977. His first role, under the direction of Dr. Peter O. Dietz, was to manage performance measurement services for all U.S. and international clients. In 1987, David became a senior research analyst with the research and development group, where his primary responsibilities were in new product implementation, performance attribution and equity index development. Working closely with Kelly Haughton, David was the first product manager for the Russell 3000® family of indexes (now part of FTSE Russell).
